Mr. Book just finished The Ray Gun Revolution: How Ronald Reagan Ruined America, by Trace Wood.

This book was published in March 2024.

The author was correct when he said, “Many old-school Republicans (and Democrats) will insist that Ronald Reagan would be horrified by Donald Trump. I disagree: Donald Trump is exactly what Reagan aspired to be.”

The book shows both the damage that Reagan inflicted on the nation as well as some of its many flaws throughout history. Among the many topics covered was Reagan being more afraid of alien attacks than nuclear war, myths of the founding fathers, Reagan and his religious rhetoric, the evils of Andrew Jackson, problems with corporations, Bill Clinton and his conservative policies and concessions, the evils of George W. Bush, the successes and failures of Obama and the evils of Trump.

I give this book an A.

Goodreads requires grades on a 1-5 star system. In my personal conversion system, an A equates to 5 stars. (A or A+: 5 stars, B+: 4 stars, B: 3 stars, C: 2 stars, D or F: 1 star).
