Thank you, Trine Day, for providing this book for review consideration in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Mr. Book just finished LBJ’s Mortal Wound: The Don Reynolds Story: The President, Bobby Baker Scandal And Dallas, by Robert Reynolds Nelson.
This book was published in November 2024.
The author of this book was Don Reynolds’s nephew. At the literal moment of the Kennedy assassination, Reynolds was testifying behind closed doors to the Senate Rules Committee with information that would have led to Lyndon Johnson’s impeachment as VP, removal from office and prison time. All of that changed with the assassination and the cover-up and whitewashing of Johnson began.
This book does a very good job exposing Johnson and discussing Reynolds’s role in the story.
I give this book a B+
Goodreads and NetGalley require grades on a 1-5 star system. In my personal conversion system, a B+ equates to 4 stars. (A or A+: 5 stars, B+: 4 stars, B: 3 stars, C: 2 stars, D or F: 1 star).
