Mr. Book just finished All In The Family: The Trumps And How We Got This Way, by Fred Trump.

This is a book on the Trump family, by Donald’s nephew.

The real purpose anyone has in reading this book is to find about Donald. If there is anything interesting about Fred, or any other family member, that’s just a bonus item. But, we all know who the real person of interest is.

This book broke no new ground. There was nothing said that I hadn’t already read in his sister, Mary’s, two books or seen elsewhere. A book can still get a good grade, even if it doesn’t break new ground, by being good enough. But, this book fails in that regard.

Fred takes pride in not taking after his uncle, Donald. That’s a good thing, both for him, the people he knows and the world as a whole. But, I think Fred’s motives in writing this book was to try to take after his sister, Mary. Mary can effectively write very good books, while hosting a good podcast. Fred has just proven he can’t do the former and I seriously doubt if he could do the latter.

I give this book a C. Goodreads requires grades on a 1-5 star system. In my personal conversion system, a C equates to 2 stars. (A or A+: 5 stars, B+: 4 stars, B: 3 stars, C: 2 stars, D or F: 1 star).
